Card Games: A Battle of Wit and Luck

小明 (Xiǎomíng): 你喜欢玩纸牌游戏吗？ (Nǐ xǐhuān wán zhǐpái yóuxì ma?)

Do you like playing card games?

小华 (Xiǎohuá): 我很喜欢！ (Wǒ hěn xǐhuān!)

I like it very much!

（他们坐在公园的长椅上。） (Tāmen zuò zài gōngyuán de chángyǐ shàng.)

They sat on a bench in the park.

小明: 你觉得运气和智慧哪个更重要？ (Nǐ juédé yùnqì hé zhìhuì nǎge gèng zhòngyào?)

Which do you think is more important, luck or wisdom?

小华: 我认为智慧更重要。 (Wǒ rènwéi zhìhuì gèng zhòngyào.)

I think wisdom is more important.

小明: 可是，有时候运气也很关键。 (Kěshì, yǒu shíhòu yùnqì yě hěn guānjiàn.)

But sometimes luck is also very important.

（小华拿出一副纸牌。） (Xiǎohuá ná chū yī fù zhǐpái.)

Xiaohua took out a deck of cards.

小华: 我们来一局吧！ (Wǒmen lái yī jú ba!)

Let's play a game!

小明: 好主意！ (Hǎo zhǔyì!)

Good idea!

（他们开始洗牌。） (Tāmen kāishǐ xǐpái.)

They started to shuffle the cards.

小华: 你先出牌！ (Nǐ xiān chū pái!)

You play first!

小明: 我出一张红心五。 (Wǒ chū yī zhāng hóngxīn wǔ.)

I play a five of hearts.

小华: 我用黑桃七跟你！ (Wǒ yòng hēitáo qī gēn nǐ!)

I follow you with a seven of spades!

（比赛进行得很激烈。） (Bǐsài jìnxíng de hěn jīliè.)

The competition was intense.

小明: 这局我赢了！ (Zhè jú wǒ yíng le!)

I won this round!

小华: 真不错！你运气很好。 (Zhēn bùcuò! Nǐ yùnqì hěn hǎo.)

Not bad! You are very lucky.

小明: 也许是，但我觉得我也有策略。 (Yěxǔ shì, dàn wǒ juédé wǒ yě yǒu cèlüè.)

Maybe, but I think I also have a strategy.

小华: 下次我会更努力！ (Xià cì wǒ huì gèng nǔlì!)

Next time I will try harder!

（他们决定再来一局。） (Tāmen juédìng zài lái yī jú.)

They decided to play another round.

小明: 一起加油吧！ (Yīqǐ jiāyóu ba!)

小华: 好的，开始吧！ (Hǎo de, kāishǐ ba!)
